Barbara Tierney's career began in upstate New York as a freelance wedding and newspaper photographer. She found a job in a small ad agency in Albany, then made the move to New York City where she landed a job with the iconic George Lois (Lois Pitts Gershon). As a production manager, she managed the launches of MTV, USA Today, Nickelodeon and several other well known brands. Exciting times.
In the mid to late 90's, Barbara had a freelance business while raising her son, then took a position as art director at International Masters Publishers where she managed, designed and developed editorial material, and promotional materials (ranging from package inserts to complex direct mail packages).
In 2006, after 9 years at IMP, she freelanced for various Publishers designing children’s books and promotional direct mail packages in some top level companies such as Scholastic, Reader's Digest, Wall Street Journal Wines, Virgin Wines as well as design work for local businesses.
Barbara has worked in the advertising and graphic design industry for over thirty years. Today, SunCoast Web Studio is a small, full-service web and graphic design studio offering solid skills and consultancy and a love for excellent design.
Tierney always takes the time to learn about her clients' needs and how express their individuality while offering the technical know-how to "get the job done". As a one-woman studio, she loves working directly with clients and offering the individual attention they deserve, creating unique designs to match their brand.
When Barbara is not working, you will find her paddle boarding, gardening, kayaking, biking, walking the beaches, listening to music or just relaxing!
I Look forward to working with my new SunCoast community!
